The title is self-explanatory. This painting was done with the Zorn palette (titanium white, yellow ocre, cadmium red, and ivory black), which works well for portraits.
The body was drawn using a simple grid system. The face was copied from a photo using a comparator mirror; I really like that method for faces. There are two paint layers, more or less: a first pass in shades of grayish yellow, and then a second pass to put in the color variations.
